Upgrades can give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrader kit by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which will display an item's preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones.
